BIOENGINEERING
The Bioengineering, or Biomedical Engineering,
is an interdisciplinary and intersectorial
activity that studies the biological mechanisms
to connect the biology with the new technologies.
This discipline uses the engineeristic technologies
to comprise, formalize and resolve bio-medical
problems, in order to:
|
-

-
to design instruments, devices and
materials that remind to the biological
organisms and that can integrate
biological parts
-
to measure the biological phenomena
It is possible to obtain these targets
only with a strong collaboration and
interchange between engineering, medicine
and biological acquaintances. This approach
confers to the biomedical engineering a
strong multidisciplinary connotation.
SOME APPLICATIONS
The Bioengineering has revolutionized the
high technology scientific instrumentation
field. For example, it is possible to use
the Bioengineering to deposit membranes and
biological films on sensors and transducers,
in this way it is possible to measure
biological phenomena quantitatively.
Thanks to these new biotechnological
instruments it will be possible to quantify
the drugs effects on the human body, to
formulate personalized pharmacological
therapies, with the advantage to calibrate
its amount on the single patient, according
to real requirements.
