    Technical details

    An Infrasonic Array works like a sonic antenna, it is able to detect the magnitude and the source of sound waves. The Geosonic array is able to detect also pressure waves that the human ears can’t hear. A typical pressure wave is that generated by an explosion or by any physical phenomena (natural or human created) that generates an air pressure wave, which means that the Geosonic array can be used to detect a lot of phenomena, like:

    • EXPLOSIONS (generated by artillery in a battleground)
    • VOLCANIC ACTIVITY
    • ROCKET LAUNCH ORIGIN
    • NUCLEAR EXPLOSIONS
    • HELICOPTERS

    Description of the principle for the detection

    Generally three or more infrasonic monitoring stations, working like an “antenna”, are needed to get directional information. According to the geometrical arrangement of the sensors array, it is possible to resolve the infrasound source position by means of a triangulation, using the time of flight, which can be calculated correlating the signals of different nodes. The accuracy in the determination of the infrasound source increases with the number of the nodes of the array, with our system you can build a big array up to 8 nodes.
