G-Mix 5CH: Complete System for Creating Gas Mixtures
G-MIX is a versatile, integrated system designed to create countless gas mixtures. Gas flows are precisely controlled by five Mass Flow Controllers (MFCs), each storing calibration tables for 10 different gases. The entire hydraulic system is constructed with AISI316 stainless steel tubing, fittings, and valves, using the best solutions available for such applications. The stoichiometric composition of the gas mixture can be easily controlled via BioAge-developed software with an intuitive interface, which can be installed on a PC and communicates with G-MIX through a USB connection.
The system can also operate in Stand-Alone mode, without a PC connection, thanks to an easy-to-use LCD display on each MFC, allowing gas parameters to be set through an intuitive keypad on the MFC. G-MIX is ideal for creating well-controlled, known gas compositions for chemical labs, sensor and transducer calibration, or as a calibration tool for chemical films.
The G-MIX system is extremely compact, encased in a robust satin aluminum case with a transparent polycarbonate front panel, all illuminated with high-intensity LEDs for an appealing visual effect. The high-quality materials used in G-MIX’s construction ensure a reliable, durable system, even when working with toxic or corrosive gases.
G-MIX is a versatile system, equipped with two valves and a precisely designed hydraulic system suitable for a wide range of experiments. It consists of two main lines for “active” gases and three lines for “carrier” gases. Two of these carrier lines can also connect to an external hydraulic setup to create a saturated vapor of a chemical solution, which can then be mixed with a gas mixture. The entire system is illustrated in the following figure.
The G-MIX 5CH system uses five different MFCs, each with calibration tables for 10 different gases. Using the software, each MFC can handle up to 10 types of gases stored within it. Additionally, users can request BioAge to load other gases, selected from a range of 134 options.
The software provided with the G-MIX 5CH is highly intuitive and easy to use, running on MS-Windows™. With USB connectivity, it is straightforward to operate and includes useful features like automatic recognition of the computer port to which the instrument is connected. It also provides an easy way for users to set parameters on each MFC, selecting the type of gas, the quantity desired, and the preferred unit of measurement.
